It’s summertime! And although many of us have been sticking close to home, there’s still time to get out and get in the water!

You may have gotten a little behind with your waxing when the salons were shut down. And you may have decided in the future, you don’t want to go into a salon or spa every few weeks to have the following removed:

  • Bikini
  • Arm
  • Leg hair

If that’s the case, we have a solution for you, Laser Hair Removal!

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

We use the CoolGlide® and ProWave laser systems to deliver 21st-century technology to reduce unwanted hair permanently.

These state-of-the-art lasers safely and effectively treat men and women of all skin tones – even if you tan.

The secret is in the:

  • Unique design
  • Longer wavelength
  • Innovative cooling design

A small cooled handpick emits a pulse of concentrated light to the treatment site. This treats both your hair follicle and cools your skin.

As the laser energy safely passes through your skin, it is absorbed by the pigment in your hair and hair follicle. The heat inactivates the follicle and prevents the hair from growing again without damaging your skin.

Why Is Laser Hair Removal Better Than Other Hair Removal Options?

Shaving, plucking, waxing, threading, and depilatories are short-term solutions because they leave the hair follicle intact.

An intact hair follicle allows hair to regrow in just a few days. The only long term hair reduction solutions are laser removal and electrolysis because they target the hair follicle.

How Is Laser Hair Removal Different From Electrolysis?

Laser hair removal is less painful and much quicker than electrolysis. It also allows for the treatment of multiple and large areas in a single session.

Electrolysis is a long, tedious process because it works on each individual hair follicle. First, it zaps the root with an electrical charge and then removes the hair with tweezers.

Laser hair removal targets dozens of hair follicles with each pulse to cover larger areas much more quickly.

Electrolysis can also take years to reach desired results. However, laser hair removal usually achieves them within 6 to 8 treatments.

How Many Treatments Will It Take to Get Results?

The average is 6 to 8 treatments, but it depends on the individual and the area you want to be treated. Typically the darker and thicker, the better the results.

For women, bikini line and underarms results are usually much better than facial hair. It takes multiple treatments for some hair follicles because they aren’t currently going through active growth cycles.

Also, hair that is too light in pigment for the laser may take longer to register during a treatment session, so you need to come back to have those taken care of next time.

It’s best to space out treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart for the first 3-4 sessions. Any remaining sessions can be performed every eight weeks.
